Cocone’s Digital Worlds in 2026 – A Message from the Chairman of the Cocone Group
As we welcome the new fiscal year, Yang Hyun Chun, Founder and Chairman of the Cocone Group, shares Cocone’s vision for the digital worlds we aim to create and the corporate ethos we strive to embody.
The following outlines our shared aspirations for 2026 – embraced by every Cocone Group employee and pursued through our services.
Yang Hyun Chun
Founder and Chairman, Cocone Group
Looking ahead, the digital world will grow ever more expansive and inclusive, becoming an increasingly integral part of human reality.
Unlike social media, which function primarily as networks that connect people and information,
the digital world will evolve into a space where people exist and form relationships through avatars.
There, individuals will live not merely as “accounts,” but as people.
The digital world is another real world.
I do not subscribe to the idea that only the physical world is real while the digital world is merely virtual.
From this point forward, humanity will inhabit two realms simultaneously.
One is the physical expansion beyond Earth, toward the solar system, the galaxy, and the universe.
The other is the expansion of the digital world as a spiritual realm, where consciousness, emotions, relationships, and identity unfold.
Even in a digital space, if emotions are stirred, relationships are formed, wounds are inflicted and healed, and life gains deeper meaning, then that world is no longer virtual. It is real.
Depth of Relationship over Quantity
In the digital world I envision, people are neither competitors nor merely colleagues.
Every individual stands at the center of their own life, surrounded by those with whom they share deep and meaningful relationships. Only a handful of such relationships may be enough.
This world should be designed on the premise that life is sustained not by hundreds of shallow ties, but by the depth of a few.
Transcending Nationality, Race, Gender, and Age
The digital world inhabited by avatars is not merely a world free from discrimination.
In this space, people are not defined by the conditions into which they were born. They are valued for their choices, their attitudes, their relationships, and the way they live over time.
This freedom is liberating, yet it also brings with it a new responsibility: the responsibility of choosing how we live.
That is precisely why our digital world must not be draining.
Being alone is not a state of incompleteness, but a form of restoration.
I believe that being alone in the digital world is profoundly important.
It is neither isolation nor failure.
Just as the body recovers during sleep, time spent alone is when the mind and identity heal and realign.
For this reason, our world must:
“- Be designed so that solitude is never shameful
- Be designed so that no one ever feels ashamed of being alone”
- Not equate silence or distance with disengagement
- Protect each individual’s safe space and sense of belonging, even when relationships are lost
The Role Cocone Must Fulfill
Cocone’s responsibility extends beyond providing avatar services or content.
I believe Cocone bears the responsibility of designing the very world in which people can continue to live in the digital realm without being worn down or diminished.
To do so, we must continually prioritize the following values:
- Dignity and respect over growth
- Healing over competition
- Meaning over consumption
- Depth over expansion
A New Business Begins Here
As people come to experience emotions and relationships more freely, more delicately, and more deeply, new needs will naturally emerge.
As such, Cocone’s business must not:
- Stir anxiety
- Be predicated on compulsive engagement
- Foster an economy driven by comparing people
Instead, our businesses should support human existence, promote healing, and remain a meaningful part of people’s lives.
I seek to build such a digital world through Cocone.
People look to the universe in order to go farther, and to the digital world to live more deeply.
Should that digital world wear down and exhaust those who inhabit it, it will be a failure.
A world where people can heal, preserve their dignity, and continue living as themselves.
That is the digital world I wish to realize with Cocone.
